Second Anti-Semitic Slur Charged to Mrs. Clinton

Posted  Wednesday, July  21 2000

Still reeling from allegations that she called a former campaign aide a "f------ Jew bastard"  in 1974, First Lady Hillary Clinton has been hit with accusations of a more recent slur.  Internet journalist  Matt Drudge has posted audio tapes, in RealAudio format, in which Mrs. Clinton is heard to describe Nazi concentration camp survivor Simon Wiesenthal as a "greedy, swarthy, obnoxious, hook-nosed, beanie-wearing, matzo-eating, Christ-killing Jew Hebe Hymie Kike."  The tirade was secretly taped at a July 20, 2000 appearance before the National Association for the Advancement of White People ("NAAWP"), an organization which has provided approximately 70% of the financing for Mrs. Clinton's senate bid.

Mrs. Clinton initially denied the report, dismissing it as the fabrication of the "Zionist/Jew-controlled media conspiracy."  However, when confronted with charges of yet a third slur--namely, that she had just alluded to a "Zionist/Jew-controlled media conspiracy" in denying having described  Simon Wiesenthal as a "greedy, swarthy, obnoxious, hook-nosed, beanie-wearing, matzo-eating, Christ-killing Jew Hebe Hymie Kike,"  Mrs. Clinton called for the immediate enactment of legislation modeled after the 1938 Nuremburg laws to strip Jews of their property and civil rights, followed by involuntary internment and extermination.  When questioned whether this last proposal, to strip Jews of their property and civil rights, imprison and exterminate them, could be viewed as at least as anti-Semitic as her references to a  "Zionist/Jew-controlled media conspiracy" and a "greedy, swarthy, obnoxious, hook-nosed, beanie-wearing, matzo-eating, Christ-killing Jew Hebe Hymie Kike," Mrs. Clinton replied: "I spit on the ashes of the six million killed in the Holocaust, assuming it really happened at all."

At a press conference later that afternoon, Abe Foxman of the American Jewish Congress and Patricia Ireland of the National Organization for Women termed Mrs. Clinton's statements as "unfortunate and infelicitously worded."  However, Mr. Foxman urged voters to consider her record on Jewish issues rather statements allegedly made by her over twenty-five years ago and yesterday.  He pointed out that Mrs. Clinton had not kissed Suha Arafat in several months, and had accepted contributions from thousands of Jewish contributors.  Ms. Ireland cautioned voters not to succumb to "single-issue" politics, noting that Mrs. Clinton had long supported a woman's right to choose, including the right to crush the skull of a nine-month old fetus and suck out its brains.  Ms. Ireland also pointed out that abortion was a form of black genocide which would keep "Schwartzes" out of suburban Jewish neighborhoods.
